Movie Overview:
An easy movie to like! And I can see how some other reviewers didn't care for this film. But for me I greatly enjoyed the story, character portrayals, plot, suspense, and the great ending.
I thought Nicolas Cage and Elijah Wood worked perfectly together as a team of not corrupt policemen but just bored with their job policemen and looking to change their life through a scheme. And for the scheme to work correctly 'trust' is all important! They had to trust each other, trust the plan and timing they came up with, and trust the machinery they had to use to carry out their scheme.
Plus for their trust to work 100% they could not place trust in anyone else! And that is what happens. Officer Waters (Wood) brakes his trust in Officer Stone (Cage) and replaces it by trusting the woman in handcuffs. Thus the ending because the only thing that held their trust was the machinery.
